A Medical doctor with a passion for Global and Reproductive Health, who highly believes in voluntarism to be the way to a better future. My ultimate goal is to help my community and always looking for ways to create a better and more inclusive society, especially within the healthcare system.
Sabrina Zeleke Belay is a medical intern at Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital, Addis Ababa University. She is currently serving as the National Director on Medical Education at the Ethiopian Medical Students’ Association (EMSA) where she coordinates and oversees activities on medical education in 15 different local chapters. As the National Officer, she also organizes and delivers capacity building training sessions both at a national and international level. She is also a member of the ONE Champions East Africa and Amref Health Africa Youth Council where she takes part in promoting meaningful youth participation by engaging in youth-led activities and campaigns. She is passionate about health and education issues of the youth. She coordinates an educational project called PAL (Peer Assisted Learning) that works on mentorship among medical students. She also serves as a local project coordinator for Project SHEBA (Sexual Health Education for Better Awareness) which promotes gender equality in intimate relationships among high school students.
The world can be a better place and I have a responsibility to contribute to that. We owe each other kindness.
Born in Addis, got my undergraduate at Jimma University and post graduate at AAU. Currently working at a private hospital in Addis. Married and a father of 3.
Senait is a dedicated public health professional who oversees Lifebox’s strategic objectives and program design in East and Southern Africa. Senait is also in charge of key partnerships in the region, as well as Lifebox employees in Ethiopia. Senait has extensive experience in hospital and healthcare program design, implementation, and management. She has previously worked for organizations such as Jhpiego, AIDS Resource Center, IntraHealth International, and Doctors Without Borders. Senait previously worked as a public health consultant before joining Lifebox. Senait graduated from Gondar University with a nursing degree and an MPh from the Addis Continental Institute of Public Health (ACIPH). Senait is a member of Lifebox’s management team. Senait contributes her time outside of her regular employment to Yetena Weg by serving on the board, coordinating the overall program wit the other Core Team members, and lead the Social Media team
Assistant Professor at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, I am Board Certified in the the the American Board of Internal medicine (2018), and Nephrology (2021) and completed an additional year of Transplant Nephrology in 2021. I completed my medical school in Ethiopia in 2010, at Addis Ababa University Medical school, and then did 2 years of practice as a General practitioner at Dodola Hospital where I also served as the first medical director of the hospital. ***** I did my internal medicine residency in New York at St.John’s Episcopal Hospital (2015-2018) and then went to study Nephrology and Transplant nephrology fellowships (2018-2021) at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Now I am working as an assistant professor at Thomas Jefferson Unversity and my roles include clinical care and teaching. My interests – are technology and health, Mentorship and want to pursue studies in noncommunicable diseases, particularly Chronic Kidney disease and Kidney transplant care in global health.
