Yetena Weg Mentorship

Yetena Weg Mentorship aims to provide medical students and healthcare professionals with quality mentorship and guidance to support their academic and professional goals, while also promoting soft skill development and work-life balance. Our mission is to create a supportive community of healthcare professionals that fosters lifelong learning and growth.

Our objective is to offer a comprehensive mentorship program that caters to the unique needs of medical students and healthcare professionals. Through our selective one-to-one mentorship program, we provide personalized guidance to mentees, while our one-year soft skill development program is open to all interested individuals. We also prepare our mentees for international exams, with opportunities for high-motivation mentees to work as volunteers and project leads.

Our areas of mentorship include leadership, effective communication, career and academic development, healthcare research, work-life balance, and international test preparation like USMLE and PLAB.
Since our inception in 2020, our program has grown thanks to the support of our volunteer members. Our ultimate objective is to build a community of healthcare professionals that supports one another in their pursuit of academic and professional success.

About our Personal Mentorship Program

As of January 2022, Yetena Weg Mentorship has partnered with the Federal Ministry of Health and the Ethiopian Medical Students Association (EMSA) to increase the capacity and access to health care professionals all over Ethiopia.

The mentorship program now contains three parts; personal mentorship, international exam preparations and career and professional development courses (a one year certifiable course).

The Personal Mentorship Program matches Mentors with respective mentees in 3 cycle per year, with one cycle lasting for 4 months.
